The Sonesta Dahabiya will take you back in time to a gentler, more gracious era. Offering a unique experience down the Nile by traditional small sailing vessel that was commonly used during those elegant days of the monarchy (1920s-40s).

BOAT DETAILS: The Dahabiya has 6 deluxe cabins and 2 suites (with private terrace). All cabins and suites are air-conditioned and feature private direct dial telephones, mini bar, hairdryer, safety deposit box and marine satellite TV. Facilities include a restaurant, stylish lounge, spacious and partially shaded sun deck and an open-air jacuzzi.

Embark before lunch. Afternoon visit to the West Bank to see the burial places of the Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. Continue to the adjacent Valley of the Queens, the temple of Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight: Luxor. (l,d)

DAY 2 SUNDAY LUXOR
Visit the magnificent temple complex of Amon-Ra at Karnak, with its vast hypostyle hall of 137 columns, followed by the imposing 28th Dynasty Luxor Temple. Overnight: Luxor. (b,l,d)

DAY 3 MONDAY ESNA
Today is a leisurely day. After breakfast, commence sailing to Esna. Overnight: Esna. (b,l,d)

DAY 4 TUESDAY EDFU
Morning sail to Edfu to visit the preserved Temple of Edfu. Overnight: Edfu. (b,l,d)

DAY 5 WEDNESDAY KOM OMBO
Sail to Kom Ombo, visit the Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus, god of the morning sun. Overnight: Kom Ombo. (b,l,d)

DAY 6 THURSDAY ASWAN
A leisurely day sailing to Aswan. Overnight: Aswan. (b,l,d)

DAY 7 FRIDAY ASWAN
Visit the Aswan High Dam and the Philae Temple. Overnight: Aswan. (b,l,d)

DAY 8 SATURDAY DISEMBARK
After breakfast, disembark.
